The Manufacturing Reshoring Initiative for the South Texas Border Region is an EDA funded multi-year project currently underway with local partners in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). our team is currently working to perform a detailed asset mapping of the South Texas border region with a focus on small and medium sized manufacturers, collecting data on machine, technician, products, raw materials, processes and capability.
Survey questions were reviewed by key industry
leaders, regional economic development experts, plant managers and
manufacturing specialists. During this process, we will reach 400-500 companies
in South Texas and 100 companies in Northern Mexico to provide a comprehensive
view of the regional supply chain. Further analysis of the data collected will
provide evidence of gaps as well as readiness for new opportunities in specific
industries and manufacturing niches.
